COIMBATORE: An international holiday destination with lots of sight-seeing and shopping! Voila, it is Singapore, and India is the fourth-largest source of visitors to this island. For India, Singapore is the top tourist spot, with Thailand and Malaysia close on their heels.
Singapore has witnessed a growth of 14% in tourist inflow in 2007 with 7.49 lakh people visiting last year. While visitor arrivals from India were highest from the four key metros, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore, mini-metros like Coimbatore have also recorded an impressive growth.
