Singapore saw a 19% lift in consumer spend for the two month period of their annual region wide sale, despite weakening economies and drops in consumer spending elsewhere.

According to the latest MasterCard data, MasterCard cardholders spent a total of US$701.1 million during the full two month period of the Great Singapore Sale, this year held between the 23rd of May and the 20th of July.

“Growth in spend for this year’s Great Singapore Sale was driven largely by Singaporean MasterCard cardholders who have continued to make full use of the Sale offerings,” said T.V. Seshadri, MasterCard VP and Senior Country Manager, Singapore.
