QANTAS and Singapore Airlines have moved to quash speculation they are looking at a merger as a result of crippling fuel prices.
Both airlines denied a merger was under consideration after press reports raised the issue this week.
Qantas chief executive Geoff Dixon said the speculation was wrong.
"I do not know where it has come from," he said.
"We have not had any discussion with Singapore Airlines on any issue involving the two companies, I don't think, for three years.
