Singapore - Singapore police have arrested a British national in connection with a series of internet scams that allegedly cheated members of an online forum out of 10,000 Singapore dollars (6,462 US dollars). The 36-year-old man was initially picked up for overstaying, The Straits Times said.
Officers received reports that a man was offering computer hard disks at an electronics website. After the victims paid, the disks never arrived.
The devices were advertised for as much as 250 Singapore dollars (186 US dollars) below the regular price.
The Briton was reportedly staying with his Singaporean girlfriend.
