OPTUS chief executive Paul O'Sullivan says the federal Government should offer a five-month extension for bidders for the $4.7 billion national broadband contract or risk the Singapore government-owned telco boycotting the tender process.
In an escalation of Mr O'Sullivan's previously stated rhetoric about the possible lack of competitive tension within the tender process, Mr O'Sullivan told ABC television yesterday that he also wanted an assurance from the federal Government that there would be a "structural separation" between ownership and service provision on the new network.
