Singapore tightens policy as number of HFMD cases rises

Singapore's Health Ministry said Tuesday that it has ordered two pre-schools and five childcare centers to close as it tightens its policy on hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD).

The latest figures showed that the number of HFMD cases increased 25 percent to 1,245 in the week ending April 19 over the previous week, bringing the total number of notified HFMD cases this year to 7,560.
