SINGAPORE (Thomson Financial) - High food and energy prices may have pushed Singapore's inflation to a fresh 25-year high in March, economists said.

Based on Thomson IFR average estimates, Singapore's consumer price index may have risen 6.8 percent, accelerating from February's 6.5 percent increase and higher than January's 6.6 percent jump.

The Department of Statistics will release the March CPI data on Wednesday.
