Singapore B777 unscheduled diversion cause inflight shutdown

New Delhi (India) - A Singapore Airlines plane makes an uncheduled diversion to New Delhi international airport (India), due to engine mechanical troubles on one of the two engines of the plane during a flight over Indian Ocean.

The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER, registration number 9V-SWF, flight number SQ332, which was supposed to operate between Singapore (Singapore) Changi international airport and Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle (France) international airport with a total passengers number not know at this present time, took-off around 1:45pm and was over the Indian Ocean when an engine incident occurred. The pilots requested an emergency diversion to New Delhi Indira Gandhi international airport.

The plane landed without further incident and no injuries. No more information were released by the company about the engine problem. The passengers have been disembarked and placed in some hotels to wait for the next departure, the day after. Singapore Airlines is working with the passengers to find the best solution to be relocated to another plane.
