SINGAPORE, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Latest figures from Singapore's Ministry of Health showed that 422 new cases of HIV infection were reported in 2007, 65 more than in 2006 and bringing the total number to 3,482.
The ministry said on its website on Tuesday that 93 percent of the new cases were males.
Among the total 3,482 infected Singaporeans, 1,534 are asymptomatic carriers, 804 had AIDS-related illnesses and 1,144 have died.
