MANILA, Mar 01, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- PETZF | news | PowerRating | PR Charts -- The Supreme Court (SC) junked the P4,567,450.79 excise tax refund being sought by Singaporean air carrier Silkair Pte. Lte (Silkair).
In a 13-page decision penned by Associate Justice Conchita Carpio Morales, the SCs Second Division unanimously denied Silkairs petition from the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) decision which held that Silkair was not the proper party to file for the refund of taxes it claimed to have paid on purchases of jet fuel from Petron Corporation from January to June 2000.
