The largest passenger aircraft in the world arrived in London today on its first commercial flight to Europe.

Singapore Airlines flight SQ 308 touched down at 2.50pm at Heathrow, where airport workers turned out to watch as fire engines gave it a water cannon salute as it taxied to its stand.

Passengers walked into Terminal 3 a brass band played “Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines” and airline staffed handed out orchids.
