Shanghai. February 5. INTERFAX-CHINA - Although foreign companies are forbidden from holding a controlling stake in China's media enterprises and from broadcasting news programs via terrestrial, cable and satellite TV in China, many international media groups are still keen on expanding in the country.
Singapore-based MediaCorp Pte Ltd. set up its representative office in China in 1999, but only began broadcasting in the country in 2004, when it was authorized to show its Channel NewsAsia in hotels with three or more stars via cable TV. >>>> More
