Australia Raises Scrutiny For Sovereign Funds

"Australia has long been a destination of choice for the Singaporean sovereign wealth funds Temasek and the Government of Investment Corporation. Temasek’s SingTel bought the telecom company Optus in 2001 and its affiliated SingPower won control of Victoria state electricity assets in 2004. Collectively, they own assets in Australia worth more than 20 billion Australian dollars ($18.39 billion), according to The Australian."
