Argus Media, which launched its Argus Fuel Oil Bulletin Board (AFOBB) for the Rotterdam high-sulphur fuel oil (HSFO) at the start of 2007, is close to launching a similar service for the Singapore fuel oil market.
The plans were revealed during an Argus Petroleum forum in London today where Dan Massey, President, Argus Media, said the AFOBB in Rotterdam had been "hugely successful" in attracting market liquidity.
Massey said that the Rotterdam AFOBB had an average of 150 entries (bids and offers) and 20 reported deals involving around 40,000 metric tonnes (mt) of fuel oil transactions daily.
