Singapore Airlines will operate an extra three flights per week into Brisbane from April, the State Government has announced.
Tourism Minister Desley Boyle said Singapore Airlines would increase its scheduled flights to Brisbane from 14 to 17 per week.
Ms Boyle said the extra services would help drive up international tourist numbers in Queensland.
"International tourism is worth more than $3.6 billion to Queensland every year and, as a government, we are committed to growing this figure by partnering with world-leading international airlines," she said.
The announcement comes in the wake of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties, which was signed last November and committed them to joint marketing activities.
The Singapore Airlines announcement comes after Etihad and Emirates airlines also announced their intentions to add or increase flights to Brisbane.
