KOLKATA, Jan. 15: A Singapore government delegation today held discussions with chief minister Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and his commerce and industry minister Mr Nirupam Sen, showing interest in sectors such as infrastructure, housing and retailing.
The head of the Singaporean delegation, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, minister for community development, youth and sports, and second minister for information, communications and the Arts, said he was optimistic about the prospect of Singaporean companies engaging themselves in infrastructure, housing and retailing projects in the state.
“The way development and industrial projects have been undertaken in the state, I believe many companies in Singapore would like to participate here. We are discussing future collaborations with the West Bengal government. More such delegations will visit the state soon,” Dr Balakrishnan said. SNS
