ST. LOUIS, MO (2008-01-16) Boeing's Integrated Defense System has a new order to fill - 24 F-15's for the Republic of Singapore.

Singapore's Defense Minister was in St. Louis Wednesday to announce the jet fighter purchase. Missouri Senator Kit Bond was on hand to applaud the deal - and downplay recent mechanical problems with the F-15 planes,

"I believe that most of the - or a large part of the F-15's are back in service but that doesn't change the fact that when the average age of your aircraft fleet is 24 years, they're all too old."

All F-15s were grounded by the Air Force shortly after the crash of one of the planes in south-central Missouri last November. But after an investigation, about 60 percent of F-15's were allowed to fly again.
