SingTel Innov8 CEO: There is so much money in Singapore that you are no entrepreneur if you cannot get at least $250K in funding

The CEO of one of Asia’s largest corporate venture funds says there is so much investment money available for early-stage companies in Singapore that he questions the merit of any start-up technology company that isn’t able to secure a few hundred grand.
In Singapore there is plenty of money up to the 500k mark,” Hardless said at the Echelon Ignite Australia 2013 forum, which was sponsored by Singtel.
In fact to be honest . . . the reality is if anyone comes to me in Singapore saying they are struggling to raise $250,000, I actually sometimes don’t rate them as an entrepreneur. Because there is literally so much money available. There are 15, 16 TIS (Technology Incubation Scheme) incubators. . . who are available to give funding up to around $600,000.” Full story
