Ms Fu, who is Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, expressed her faith in making Singapore a home for new immigrants, but said in the Channel NewsAsia report: “It is not something the Government could do single-handedly. We involve all stakeholders in this - employers, schools, VWOs, people sector - to help us in this process of establishing a stronger social bonding with the new immigrants.”
That means employers, community and grassroots leaders, student leaders, and Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) have to work together with the immigrants to build social ties and fit into the Singapore landscape. Full story
