SingTel Profit Little Changed, Damped by India Unit

Aug. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Singapore Telecommunications Ltd., said first-quarter profit was little changed as slower growth at regional associates including India offset contributions from its local business and Australian unit.
Growth at SingTel’s Optus unit in Australia and its local business helped boost revenue by 11 percent to S$4.29 billion, as earnings from its Indian associate Bharti Airtel Ltd. fell because of price cuts to attract customers. Full Story
