SINGAPORE (AFP)--Singapore hopes to attract more tourists from its neighbours as part of a $60 million project to boost tourism amid the global economic downturn, a minister said.
"Travel patterns are expected to change in the current climate with a switch from long-haul to shorter-haul trips. The campaign will target this potential higher intra-regional traffic from our key regional markets," S. Iswaran, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, told parliament.
