SINGAPORE--Sales of new private homes in Singapore surged 41.7% in July from a month earlier, reversing the sharp declines seen in the previous two months as homebuyers warmed to more modestly priced condominium launches in the city- state, government data showed Wednesday.
A total of 1,943 new private-residential units, excluding executive condominiums, were sold in July, up from 1,371 units in June, according to data published on the Urban Redevelopment Authority's website. In June, home sales slumped 19.5% to their lowest so far this year after falling 32% in May. Full story
