THE number of unemployed Filipinos has hit a new record-high of 34.4 percent or 13.8 million, according to the latest Social Weather Stations survey.
The survey results, which were first published in BusinessWorld, showed that 13.8 million individuals or 34.4 percent of the Filipinos were unemployed. The number is 10 points higher than the 24 percent, or about 9.7 million, recorded in December 2011.
SWS said that it also surpassed the previous record of 34.2 percent in February 2009. Full story
