Prices of resale flats continue to rise fueled by growing demand from PRs

Despite a slew of ‘cooling measures’ introduced lately and the launching of new projects, the prices of resale HDB flats continue to grow, fueled by growing demands from Singapore PRs.
According to latest statistics from HDB, HDB flat prices HDB flat prices in the second quarter of 2011 rose by 2.9 per cent to a record high, the fastest since the third quarter of 2010.
Median COVs have also increased from $30,000 in April to $37,000 in June, based on figures from real estate agency ERA.
PAP Housing Minister Khaw Boon Wan revealed lately on his blog that PRs form a shocking 20 percent of buyers in the resale market which have helped popped up the prices so far. Full story
