Singapore to target unlicensed employment agencies

The Singaporean Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is to raise standards for foreign worker management in the city state by lining up huge penalties for illegal employment agencies, it has been revealed.
Minister of state for manpower Lee Yi Shyan said that by making it an offence for people to knowingly consult with an unlicensed employment agency, kickbacks between employment agencies and errant employers will be lowered hugely and the safety of employees will be promoted. Full Story
