University of Chicago in Singapore suffers drop in enrolment

The University of Chicago began setting up a program for its Master of Science in Financial Mathematics degree in 2006. It took two years to structure the way professors could broadcast lectures over the Internet when they weren’t commuting from Chicago, research demand and finalize the actual program.
However, everything changed when the melt down of the economy took place right before the doors of the school opened in 2008..
Although the inaugural class drew in more than expected, the number of applicants beginning this September has dropped about 20%.
